My first appointment with Dr. Brugler was in 2002 when a minor jaw pain caused me to find him in a directory. Nearly three years later I re-visited Dr. Brugler when a TMJ pain and locked jaw became part of my everyday life. At this point my jaw would not open enough to fit even a strawberry and chewing food was becoming a challenge. The apparent cause of the pain was my ignorance of the early signs and the hard clenching of my jaw while working out at the gym. When I had finally decided to go to a dentist, I had forgotten the name of the doctor. After contacting other dentists who were either booked or extremely expensive, I recognized the address of Dr. Brugler and felt much more comfortable returning to him. After my diagnostic, I was told that the right side hurt because of the TMJ problem on the left side, apparently not an uncommon finding for a dentist. My understanding of the early diagnostic was that I had an overbite that was causing my muscles to do extra work. It had come to the point where my jaw stopped clicking and instead just locking and causing extreme pain. I was told that an Orthotic could be placed in my mouth, which would stop my jaw from overbiting. After burying my skepticism of the promised results, I decided to try the treatment and we started with neuromuscular dentistry, which led to Transcutaneous Electral Neural Stimulation (TENS) and measuring my jaw movement. After a few weeks I was fitted with an Orthotic. Although it took me two to three days to get used to the Orthotic, the results were immediate. Instantly my jaw stopped locking and it was as if the pain was never there. I was told patients do not like keeping the Orthotic in their mouths for long hours, but the results drove me to wear it twenty four hours a day and now a moment without it feels uncomfortable. I have not taken it off except to clean, which is required after every meal.I have recommended people to Dr. Brugler's office and eagerly talk about my treatment not only because of the pain that Dr. Brugler was able to take away but also because of the overall service the staff provides. I believe in simple things and these include friendly service and reminders of appointments. Overall Dr. Brugler and his staff have been great to me.

I got Dr. Brugler's card from a hairdresser's station. He said he only puts the best at his station. So I probably had his card in my purse for a good three weeks before I called. I was just hoping for someone to be able to tell me what would be the best way for me to get my teeth back in order. It always seemed overwhelming to me. I didn't know anything about neuromuscular treatment, but after filling out the paperwork, I was definitely a candidate for that. I never knew all my eye pain, headaches, jaw pain and neck tension was coming from my teeth. I mean I've been to chiropractors, doctors, acupuncture therapy, massage and more chiropractors. I am sure over the years I spent a good eight to ten thousand dollars and nothing helped. I just wasted time and money, so of course I was skeptical that this would work.
Dr. Brugler said you have to have a positive attitude, so after the treatment and getting my orthotic, all I did was smile. Within a matter of one hour I felt like a new person. The relief was so good and so great. I'm doing things now I didn't feel like doing before because I was always in pain.
I'm so glad I called and I'm glad that I got this done. Everyone that works in Dr. Brugler's office is so wonderful. They make it so nice to go there. Thanks to everyone.
